How to stop thinking and stop that dialogue that undermines our joy and essence.
What is called managing our thoughts and their impact on our mental health .
As a health coach, I have seen firsthand how invading thoughts can influence our work, our relationships, and our happiness.
Influence on Emotions:
Our thoughts have immense power over our emotions. Negative and critical thoughts can lead us to feel anxious, sad or stressed. On the other hand, cultivating positive and constructive thoughts can help us experience more joy, calm and satisfaction.
Impact on Physical Health:
The mind and body are closely connected.
Recurring thoughts can trigger a number of physical health problems, such as hypertension, digestive problems and sleep disorders, which we commonly refer to as stress. Becoming aware of our thoughts can help us generate better health.
Improving Relationships:
Thoughts about who we are and what happens to us influence how we perceive and react to the people and situations around us. By becoming aware of our thoughts, we can be more understanding, empathetic, and less reactive toward others. How am I talking to myself throughout the day?
Increased Productivity:
A mind filled with negative thoughts and worries can be a huge hindrance to productivity.
If we do not have a positive dialogue with ourselves, we will not be able to concentrate or make clear decisions in our work with others, or in our work, relationships, etc.
Here are 5 strategies that can help you STOP YOUR DEBILITATING DIALOGUE
Tip #1
For 10 minutes, write down everything that is going through your head without analyzing it... as if it were a river of thoughts.
Tip #2
Consciously invest time in something you like . Giving space to your creative hemisphere is a balm for the mind: it can be doing something crafty, going for a walk, playing an instrument, reading a few pages of a book (avoid social media)!!!.
Tip #3
Place your hands on your head somewhere you feel comfortable and do not separate them, explore leaving your hands in contact with that part of your head taking several long breaths. Tell me what you feel! You will be surprised.
Tip #4
Record an audio of yourself saying what's going on in your head without filtering your thoughts . After 24 hours, listen to yourself again!
Tip #5
Make a list of things you are grateful for in your life.
I encourage you to take a moment each day to reflect on your thoughts, and how what you think about yourself/a situation is affecting you.
Consciously managing your thoughts will not only improve your mental health, but will also transform every aspect of your life.
